Is it hard to buy A-Lin tickets on Fantopia?

On 6 October it was: almost every seat looked gone within seconds of 12 noon, and every category was Sold Out by 1:30 PM.

For A-Lin, only shortly before the 12 noon sale. Be logged in and ready well before.

What should I do when Fantopia shows no seats?

Keep pressing Add to cart. Seats held in other people’s carts can come back when their payment does not go through; that is how we got ours.

How Tao Meo got 16 A-Lin Kuala Lumpur tickets on Fantopia on sale day

On Tuesday 6 October at 12 noon Malaysia time, the general sale for A-Lin’s 《歌迹 Journey》 in Kuala Lumpur opened on Fantopia. Tao Meo came out of it with 16 tickets. Three things decided the day: the queue opened only just before the sale, nearly every seat looked gone within the first seconds, and tickets came through only by pressing Add to cart again and again. By 1:30 PM, every category was Sold Out.

What happened on 6 October

The queue opened close to the hour. There was little time between the queue opening and the sale starting, so nothing could be set up after getting in.
In the first seconds after 12 noon, almost every category already showed no seats.
Tickets came only by keeping at it: pressing Add to cart again and again, not stopping at the first "no seats".
By 1:30 PM, every category on Fantopia, CAT 1 to CAT 5, showed Sold Out.
The result: Tao Meo bought 16 tickets, in 8 orders, in that general sale: every booking confirmation.

Why trying again still works

Seats that vanish in the first seconds are not all sold. Many sit in other people’s carts, not yet paid for; when a payment fails or runs out of time, those seats come back to whoever is still trying. That is our reading of why repeated Add to cart worked when everything looked gone. Fantopia does not publish how long a cart holds seats.

For the next Fantopia sale

Log in and pre-fill your details well before the sale: the queue may open only minutes ahead. Pre-fill guarantees nothing, but it saves time at checkout.
Settle a first and a second category before the sale. Fantopia’s own notice suggests an alternative, and in a few seconds there is no time to decide.
When it says no seats, press Add to cart again. Do not leave or reload the queue page.
Have a tested way to pay ready, so a seat already in your cart is not lost at checkout.
