What Melon Ticket is

Melon Ticket belongs to the Kakao ecosystem, alongside the Melon music service. Many idol agencies use it for concerts and fanmeetings, particularly fanclub presales.

A Melon Ticket account is tied to a Kakao account and to identity verification designed for residents — a Korean phone number and domestic ID.

The real barrier

Not language, not the card. Identity verification. Most sales on Melon Ticket require it, and without a Korean phone number it cannot be completed.

Some shows open a channel for overseas fans — Melon’s global gateway, or a parallel sale on another platform — but that is a per-show decision by the agency. There is no general rule to rely on, only that show’s official notice.

So the first step is still the sale announcement: is there an overseas channel, where, and when.

If the show has an overseas channel

• Register on that channel with your passport name, days ahead.
• Enable overseas transactions on your card.
• Korea is two hours ahead of Vietnam.
• For balloted shows, speed is irrelevant — only the number of valid entries matters.

Collection and entry

Idol concerts in Korea usually issue tickets at the venue on the day, against the named buyer’s ID. Fanclub tickets are checked even more strictly — some shows also want the membership card.

This is why "buy it for me and hand it over" is not as simple in Korea as in Thailand: if the counter checks the named buyer’s passport, the person holding the ticket has to be that person.

What is realistically left

If a show sells only through the domestic system and checks ID at the gate, the only legitimate route is a real person in Korea buying on a real account and either attending with you or collecting in whatever way the show permits.

Anyone guaranteeing a Melon ticket for a fanclub-only show is wrong. Ask directly: whose name is on the ticket, and how is it collected.
