How to buy tickets on Ticketmelon

If ThaiTicketMajor is where the big shows live, Ticketmelon is where a great many fanmeetings, mid-sized shows and festivals do. It is friendlier to overseas buyers — but friendlier does not mean every show is open to you.

What Ticketmelon is used for

Ticketmelon is a Thai e-ticketing platform popular for T-pop fanmeetings, BL actor events, mid-sized concerts and music festivals. Many Thai entertainment companies alternate between Ticketmelon and ThaiTicketMajor rather than using one fixed platform.

Practically: never assume where a show will sell. The organiser’s announcement always names the platform — read it, then create the account in the right place.

How it differs from ThaiTicketMajor

  • Tickets are mostly electronic — a QR code in the app or by email — rather than collected at a counter. For an overseas buyer this is the single biggest advantage.
  • Accounts register with an email or phone number; a Vietnamese number usually works, but verify before the on-sale day.
  • There is no large physical counter network, so in-person queueing almost never applies.
  • Busy shows still use a virtual waiting room, working like the other platforms — positions are usually assigned when the doors open.

Payment and fees

Ticketmelon accepts international cards for many shows, which is why it counts as the easy one for remote buyers. But the list of methods is per show, set by the organiser — look at that show’s checkout rather than trusting any guide.

The platform’s service fee is added at checkout and shown before you pay. The exchange rate is your card issuer’s, not Ticketmelon’s.

Collection and entry

The e-ticket lives in your account; on the day you show the QR at the gate. Screenshot it beforehand — mobile signal at a packed venue is often unusable.

Some shows require the name on the ticket to match ID. If you plan to have someone buy for you, ask this first: does this show check names.

When to ask for help

If the on-sale falls when you are free, your card goes through, and the ticket is electronic — buy it yourself; you need nobody. Ticketmelon is the easiest Thai platform to self-serve.

Help is only worth it when the show is so contested that you need more queue positions, or the on-sale lands exactly when you cannot be at a screen.

Frequently asked questions

Is there an English version?

Yes, both web and app. Some show detail pages remain Thai only; machine translation handles them.

Will a foreign card work?

For many shows yes, but the organiser decides. The methods appear at that show’s checkout — the only reliable source. Enable international payments on your card in advance.

Can Ticketmelon tickets be transferred?

Depends on the show. Some allow a name change in the app, some lock the name. Read the show’s terms before buying if you might pass the ticket on.
