Hiring a ticket-queueing service: how to tell if they can be trusted
An honest queueing service is an ordinary service: someone joins the official on-sale for you, buys in your name at face value, and charges a fee agreed in advance. The trouble is that scalpers describe themselves in exactly the same words. This is how to tell the two apart.
Queueing for you versus reselling to you
- A queueing service joins the sale on your behalf and buys in your name and on your ID, at face value, plus a fee agreed beforehand.
- A reseller already holds a ticket, or claims to, and sells it to you above face value in someone else’s name.
The difference matters most where a show limits tickets per ID and checks names at the door: a ticket that is not in your name may simply not get you in.
Six questions before you send anyone money
- Whose name will the ticket be in? The right answer is yours. "Tickets ready to send" before the on-sale means resale, not queueing.
- What is the total? Face value, the platform’s fee and the service fee, each stated, not one number that could mean anything.
- When do I pay? Be wary of full payment before the sale. An honest service quotes its fee in advance and takes the ticket price once there is a booking confirmation.
- Where are their booking confirmations? Ask for a public album of booking confirmations, not a few screenshots in a chat.
- Does the receiving account match the person I am talking to? A mismatch is a reason to stop.
- What happens if you miss? You want that answer before the sale, not after.
Red flags
- A guarantee of tickets for a show the whole region is fighting over. Nobody can honestly give one.
- Taking bookings for a tier that has not been announced. Nobody holds a seat that does not exist yet.
- A price below face value for a sold-out show.
- Pressure to pay now, before you have had time to check.
- No track record you can look at.
How Tao Meo works
We queue in the official on-sale, buy in the customer’s name at face value, and state our fee before the sale. When an order goes through we send the confirmation screenshot straight away, and the customer pays against that confirmation.
We do not resell tickets and do not buy from the resale market. Every booking we land is on our booking confirmations page, the same images posted to the fanpage album as each order closed.
If you can buy it yourself, do
If you are free at the on-sale, have an account ready and a stable connection, buying it yourself is best. Hiring someone is only worth it against a real obstacle: you are busy at that hour, or your group needs several people buying at once because of a per-ID limit.

No. For a heavily contested show, a guarantee is itself a warning sign.
