Thai fanmeetings held in Vietnam: what changes when the show comes to you
Instead of flying to Bangkok, Vietnamese fandom increasingly waits for the artists to come here. That changes almost everything about buying a ticket: cheaper, closer, and harder to win.
Who is actually running it
A Bangkok show is run by the artist’s own agency or a Thai partner and sold on a Thai platform. A Vietnamese date adds a layer: a domestic promoter licenses the event, then handles the venue, the ticketing and the publicity themselves.
The practical consequence is that the official announcement comes from the domestic promoter’s page, not from the Thai agency, which usually only reposts it. Following only the Thai accounts means hearing days late.
What gets easier
- No international card. Prices are in đồng, paid by domestic card, bank transfer or e-wallet.
- No flights or hotel, usually the bulk of the cost of seeing a show in Bangkok.
- No language barrier. The ticketing page, the terms and the support are all in Vietnamese.
- No travel risk. A missed flight costs a whole trip; here there is no trip to miss.
What gets harder
- Far fewer seats. Domestic fanmeetings use theatres and indoor stages rather than arenas, sometimes a small fraction of the equivalent Bangkok date.
- Many more people queueing. A Bangkok show filters itself through card access and travel cost. A domestic one filters nobody.
- Thinner ticketing infrastructure. A page built for one event is not a platform that runs all year.
- Information arrives late and in pieces. Date and on-sale usually come first; prices and benefits follow, sometimes only days before the sale.
Tiers and benefits: read this part closely
The structure is almost always the same: a higher tier means closer to the stage and more interaction. The common benefits:
- Hi-touch: a hand touch as the artists pass. A few seconds.
- Group photo: photographed in small groups.
- Signing: usually a lottery among the upper tiers rather than a guarantee.
- Soundcheck or early entry: in before the doors, watching the run-through.
- Gifts: posters and photocards, allocated by tier.
Two things to remember. First, the benefits decide which tier sells out first, not the distance to the stage. Second, benefits differ between cities on the same tour, so never apply the Bangkok table to the Vietnamese date.
Before the on-sale
- Follow the domestic promoter’s page, not only the Thai agency’s accounts.
- Create an account wherever it will actually sell as soon as the announcement names the platform.
- Agree tier and quantity with the friends you are going with, so two of you are not fighting over one pair.
- Have your details ready to paste, and be logged into your banking app or wallet.
- Ignore every unofficial price table. If the promoter has not published it, the number circulating has no source.
Frequently asked questions
Usually a domestic promoter who licenses the event from the Thai side. The official announcement comes from that promoter’s page rather than from the artist’s agency.
No. Tickets are priced in đồng and accept domestic cards, bank transfer or e-wallets.
The venue is smaller so there are fewer seats, and with no card or travel barrier far more people are in the queue.
Not necessarily. Tier benefits are set per promoter and change between cities on the same tour.
