NOL World: identity verification with your passport (Verified Member Only) and Face Pass
For some concerts, such as JEONGHAN X JOSHUA in Incheon, the buy button on NOL World only appears once your account has passed Verified Member Only. It needs your original passport and your own face, so only you can do it, and it has to be done before the sale.
What Verified Member Only is
It is an identity check for NOL World members before buying a ticket to a show. On a show that carries it, only accounts verified on that show’s page can book. NOL World says it is there to stop tickets being bought for resale.
You need your passport and a smartphone. Korean passport holders do not use it; they use NOL ticket, the domestic site.
The steps
- On the show’s page, press Verified Member Only.
- Scan the QR code in the instructions pop-up with your phone.
- On the verification page, accept the Privacy Policy and KYC. If you signed up without an email address, enter one.
- Enter the code sent to your email, choose your nationality and photograph your passport as shown. Check and correct the passport details if needed.
- Photograph your face as shown.
- Refresh the show’s page on your computer. If the check succeeded, the Buy Ticket button appears.
When verification fails
- “Declined”: submitted but not passed. On the show’s page press “Request to Initialize Submission”; once an administrator has reviewed it you can try again.
- “Pending Admin Approval”: the name on your passport was not saved correctly and needs an administrator’s approval, which can take up to 24 hours. Your registered name must match your passport.
- Only a valid, original passport is accepted; photos and copies are not.
- Line up your passport and face with the guides, avoid glare, and hold the phone still for at least five seconds. Your face must match your passport photo. A slow phone or an unstable connection can spoil the submission.
What cannot be changed afterwards
- Your name, date of birth and email cannot be edited once verified.
- One verification per account, and the verified details cannot be reused for another account. If you have several accounts, verify the one you will buy with.
- Deleting the account deletes the verification; accounts restricted for misuse cannot be deleted.
- Verification is cancelled if the passport expires, or if a print, a screenshot or a forged document was used.
Face Pass
- What it is: you register your face beforehand; at the gate a camera scans it and you enter without a ticket check. Shows that use it carry a “facepass” mark on their page.
- Registering: from your booking details or mobile ticket press “Register Your Face” (on a computer, scan the QR code with your phone), consent to your personal information going to a third party, then photograph your face from the front, top, bottom, left and right.
- A registered face cannot be changed. NOL World asks you not to let anyone else use your account: if someone registers their face with your phone or account, NOL World takes no responsibility.
- The face data is encrypted and stored by Toss; NOL World keeps no photos, and Toss only tells NOL World whether a check passed or failed.
- Cancel it under My Page › NOL facepass; the data is then kept separately for a year for identity verification.
Why this matters if someone helps you buy
The check needs your passport and your face, and a registered Face Pass face cannot be changed, so no one can do these two steps for you. For a show like JEONGHAN X JOSHUA in Incheon, the ticket also has to be booked on the attendee’s own account and cannot be transferred.
Before you ask anyone for help, ask which account the ticket will be booked on and who will queue. Our JEONGHAN X JOSHUA Incheon ticket guide has that show’s sale times and rules.
Frequently asked questions
Can I verify with a non-Korean passport?
Yes. According to NOL World’s FAQ you choose your nationality and photograph your passport; only Korean passport holders have to use NOL ticket instead.
How long does verification take?
Once you finish on your phone, refresh the show’s page to see the buy button. If the status is “Pending Admin Approval”, an administrator can take up to 24 hours.
Can I change my name after verifying?
No. Your name, date of birth and email cannot be changed after verification.
Is Face Pass required?
It depends on the show. At JEONGHAN X JOSHUA Incheon it is not: without it, your ticket and ID are checked at the IN-PASS booth.
Where is my face data kept?
Encrypted, by Toss. NOL World keeps no face photos and only receives whether a check passed or failed.
