UOB LIVE, EmSphere: a concert hall right on the BTS in Sukhumvit
Unlike Impact or Thunder Dome out in the suburbs, UOB LIVE sits in the middle of Sukhumvit, on the top floor of the EmSphere mall, with a skywalk straight from the BTS. It opened on 11 February 2024 with Ed Sheeran and is now one of the easiest concert venues in Bangkok to reach — with a few rules of its own worth knowing, bags above all.
Where it is and how to get there
- Address: 6th floor, EmSphere, 628 Sukhumvit Road, Khlong Tan, Khlong Toei, Bangkok 10110 — between Sukhumvit Soi 22 and Soi 24.
- By train: BTS Phrom Phong (E5) on the Sukhumvit Line, exit 6, then the covered skywalk into EmSphere and up to the 6th floor.
- Around it: EmSphere is part of the EM District with Emporium and EmQuartier, all around Phrom Phong station.
Per UOB LIVE’s visitor page. From Siam it is five stops on the BTS with no change.
Capacity and layout
UOB LIVE gives its capacity as up to about 6,000 standing, or about 4,500 seated. Each show builds its own stage and zones, so the only plan that counts is the one on that show’s sales page.
Shows here tend to be mid-sized international concerts and larger fanmeetings: far smaller than an arena like Impact Arena, so even the back is not far from the stage.
Bags, lockers and food
- Bags and backpacks larger than 14 × 14 × 6 inches (about 35 × 35 × 15 cm) are not allowed in at most shows.
- Lockers can be rented on floor 5M, from 60 baht. Prams and strollers go to the cloakroom.
- No outside food or drink unless the manager allows it. Food and drink counters are outside the main hall.
- Cameras, filming, lightsticks and banners: each show’s own rules, on its sales page.
Per the venue guidelines. If you are coming straight from the airport, do not bring the suitcase; leave it at the hotel first.
Parking and getting home
- Parking: over 1,500 spaces across the EM District; validate your ticket at the Customer Service desk on the 6th floor for 12 hours free.
- The BTS is fastest home: the station is at the end of the skywalk. Sukhumvit jams badly on weekend nights, and a car after the show usually takes longer than the train.
- Late finish: check the last BTS train before you go.
When to arrive
- Just watching: 30–45 minutes before doors is enough. A train into town holds fewer surprises than the trip out to the suburbs.
- Merchandise or meet-and-greet benefits: come at the time the organiser gives; the call is usually hours before doors.
- Where to wait: EmSphere’s lower floors have restaurants and cafés, with seats, instead of standing in a corridor.
