Going to a concert at Bukit Jalil National Stadium

Name and location

• Name: Bukit Jalil National Stadium, now branded TM Stadium Nasional. Tickets and announcements may use either.
• Location: KL Sports City, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur.
• Capacity: 87,411 seats.
• Not to be confused with Unifi Arena, a separate building in the same complex. Read the venue line on your ticket.

By LRT, the predictable way

The nearest station is Bukit Jalil on the LRT Sri Petaling Line. The stadium is about an 8 to 10 minute walk from the station and visible as soon as you come out.

From KL Sentral: take the Kelana Jaya Line to Masjid Jamek, change to the Sri Petaling Line, and ride to Bukit Jalil. Around 26 minutes.

On major event nights the station’s hours have been extended beyond the usual close. Check Rapid KL’s announcement for your date before relying on it.

Getting home

• Expect a long queue at the LRT station. Thousands of people head for the same platform at once.
• Grab and taxi fares surge and drivers cancel right after a show. If you want a car, walk some distance from the gates before booking.
• Waiting 30 to 45 minutes inside the grounds for the crowd to thin is a perfectly reasonable plan.

Parking

Parking at KL Sports City is limited on big concert nights and fills quickly. Take the LRT if you can. If you drive anyway, arrive early and expect getting out of the car park to take a long time.

What to bring

• ID — some shows check the name on the ticket.
• A screenshot of your ticket — signal inside a full stadium is unreliable.
• Something for the weather — the roof covers the stands, but the pitch, which is where the standing sections are, can be exposed. Afternoon rain in Kuala Lumpur is normal.
• Check the organiser’s rules on bottles, umbrellas, cameras and power banks, which differ per show.
