What a membership is, and whether it is worth buying just for a presale
More and more shows sell in two rounds: a members’ presale first, then the general sale. From K-pop on Weverse to HIEUTHUHAI’s concert with its membership on hieuthuhai.ai, the questions are the same: what is a membership, and does buying one guarantee a ticket? The short answer: a membership buys earlier access, not a ticket.
What a membership is
A membership is an artist’s or group’s official fan club plan, sold by the term, usually yearly, on a platform their agency chooses. For many K-pop groups that is Weverse — BTS’s ARMY Membership or QWER’s BAWIGE Membership, for example. Vietnamese artists have started their own platforms too, such as HIEUTHUHAI’s membership on hieuthuhai.ai.
A plan usually brings a digital member card, exclusive content or gifts, and the part that matters to a ticket buyer: entry to presales held for members.
A membership is not a ticket
- A membership gives access to the presale, not a ticket. Presales have a limited allocation and can sell out. HIEUTHUHAI’s notice says it outright: completing the survey does not guarantee buying a ticket.
- Presales still have queues and limits: 2 per account in the HIEUTHUHAI Day 3 presale; 2 per membership in BOYNEXTDOOR’s ONEDOOR presale in Bangkok; 4 per Weverse ID per show date in BTS’s members’ presale in Kuala Lumpur.
- Miss the presale and you can still buy in the general sale like everyone else, from what is left.

Buying one is often not enough
The conditions are in each show’s notice, and there are usually a few steps after buying:
- Buy before the cut-off. A presale usually counts only members who held a membership by a set date; buying after it is too late.
- Register for the presale in its own window, on Weverse or through a form — and the window can be very early. BOYNEXTDOOR’s ONEDOOR presale in Bangkok on 3 October 2026 took only members registered by 12:00 KST on 7 July, almost three months before; QWER’s BAWIGE presale opened registration for exactly 48 hours, 19–21 September. HIEUTHUHAI also required members to complete a survey, closing at 23:55 three days before the presale.
- The member number may be the presale code. For BTS’s presale in Kuala Lumpur, the ARMY Membership number (starting with BA) was the code.
- Buy on the right account. The presale is tied to the account that qualified; for HIEUTHUHAI, the member’s own account that took the survey.
- The right kind of membership. Some artists sell several by region (Global, Japan, US…), and a presale in each country takes only the kind its notice names. QWER’s Bangkok presale named BAWIGE 2nd Membership (Global) on Weverse.

Is it worth buying?
It is worth it when all three of these are true:
- You follow the artist long term and will use the plan’s other benefits, not just one presale.
- The show you want has a members’ presale, and that round’s allocation is a real share of the tickets.
- You can still make every deadline: buy before the cut-off, register in the window, complete the extra steps.
It is not worth it when the cut-off has passed, when the show has no members’ presale, or when you want one show and the general sale has plenty of tickets. At that point a membership is just a fee.
What not to do
- Do not buy or borrow someone else’s membership code or account. A name or account that does not match is grounds for cancellation, and a seller can sell one code to many people.
- Do not pay for "presale slots" or "presale codes" offered online. It is a familiar scam. See 8 signs of a ticket scam.
- If someone queues for you, the purchase is still on your account. Only ask someone you trust, and agree beforehand who does what, and when.

What is a fan membership?
An artist’s or group’s official fan club plan, sold by the term on a platform such as Weverse. Its main benefit for ticket buyers is entry to members’ presales.
Does a membership guarantee a ticket?
No. It gives access to the presale, which still has a queue and limits and can sell out. If you miss it, the general sale remains.
Can I buy a membership after the cut-off and still join the presale?
Usually not. Each presale has a date by which members are counted and its own registration window, stated in the show’s notice.
Which countries’ shows does a Weverse membership work for?
It depends on the kind of membership and each show’s notice. Some artists sell Global, Japan and US versions; a presale in each country takes only the kind it names.
