Going to a show at Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani — a practical guide

The usual mistake with Impact Arena is assuming it is in Bangkok. It is in Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi, north of the city — far enough that "we will get a Grab afterwards" is not a plan. Since mid-2025 a train runs into the complex itself, and that changes the evening.

By train, the predictable way

The MRT Pink Line monorail has a branch running into the Impact grounds. Ride the Pink Line, change at Muang Thong Thani (PK10) onto the extension, go two stops to IMPACT Muang Thong Thani (MT01), and leave by Exit 3. The station connects to the complex by skybridge.

The branch has only been running since mid-2025, so older guides still say the only option is a taxi. Per Impact’s own notice, the skybridge entrance keeps its own hours, open to roughly 23:30 at weekends — worth checking if your show finishes late.

Taxis and ride-hailing

 • Easy in. Around 45 minutes to over an hour from central Bangkok depending on traffic. Add half an hour of slack.
 • Hard out. Thousands leave at once, fares surge and drivers cancel. This is where the train wins outright.
 • If you still want a car: set the pickup a short walk from the gates, or eat inside the complex for 30–45 minutes and let the crowd clear.

Finding the right building

The complex holds several: Impact Arena (the indoor arena, where Starlympics and most concerts are), Challenger Halls 1–3 (much larger halls for bigger events) and the Impact Exhibition Center. Your ticket and the promoter’s notice name the building — read that line before you travel.

When to arrive

 • If you want merchandise: hours early. Popular items and sizes go before the main doors open.
 • If you are just going in: 30–45 minutes before doors is enough. For Starlympics 2026 doors are at 13:00 and the event starts at 14:00.
 • By train: add the change at PK10, and expect the return trains to be full.

What to bring

 • Your passport — some Thai shows print the buyer’s name and check ID.
 • A screenshot of your ticket QR; signal inside a full arena is unreliable.
 • A light jacket. The air conditioning is strong and six hours seated is genuinely cold.
 • Usually not allowed: professional cameras with interchangeable lenses, outside food and drink, umbrellas, oversized banners. The promoter publishes the rules per show.
