Buying concert tickets on TicketBox, from the account to the scan at the gate

What TicketBox sells

TicketBox is a Vietnamese event ticketing platform, on the web at ticketbox.vn and as an app on the App Store and Google Play. Concerts, fanmeetings, musicals and workshops all sell there, and for large domestic concerts it carries more shows than anywhere else.

Not every domestic show sells on TicketBox: some use the promoter’s own site or another platform. The official announcement always names the seller. When a show says "only on TicketBox", anyone else offering tickets at the on-sale is not an official channel.

Make the account early, not on the morning

• Sign up with an email or a phone number and confirm with the OTP code. Finish at least a day before the sale; when tens of thousands sign up at once, slow OTPs are real.
• Fill in your full name, phone and email in the profile. TicketBox sends e-tickets to the registered email, so it must be right and in use.
• Stay logged in on the device and browser, or the app, you will actually use, and check again just before the sale that you have not been logged out.
• One account per person. Limits are per account, and one account open on several devices does not double your chances; it tends to break the session.

The waiting room and random queue numbers

For a busy show TicketBox opens a waiting room before the sale. For Day 3 of Mắt Nhắm Mắt Mở, the organiser said it would open 15 minutes early; at the sale time everyone in the waiting room gets a random queue number, and the system moves each person to the ticket page when their turn comes.

In practice: when you join within that window makes no difference, and joining very early does not help. Joining after the sale time puts you behind everyone already there. Once you have a number, do not reload or leave the app.

Limits, presales and the attendee’s name

• The most tickets per account is set by the organiser per show, sometimes per round. HIEUTHUHAI Day 3: 2 in the members’ presale, 4 in the general sale.
• A members’ presale is tied to the account that qualified (membership, a survey, a code…), so it can only be bought on that account. What a membership is and whether it is worth it: our membership guide.
• Some shows ask for attendee details or check ID at the gate. If yours does, read the event page’s terms before buying for someone else.

Payment: ready before your turn

Prices on TicketBox are in đồng. The methods appear at the last step and usually include e-wallets (MoMo, ZaloPay, ShopeePay), QR payment from a banking app (VietQR, VNPAY-QR), Vietnamese domestic ATM cards, and Visa, Mastercard and JCB. The exact list depends on the show and the moment; a wallet has been down for maintenance just before a sale before.

What matters more than the method: when your turn comes, the tickets are held for only a few minutes while you pay. Run past it and they go back for the next person.

• Be logged into your banking app or wallet, with a limit that covers the whole order.
• Have a second method ready in case the first one fails.
• A QR code or a wallet is usually faster than typing a card number.

Getting the ticket and going in

• After payment the e-ticket, with a QR code, is in the account’s tickets section and is emailed to the registered address.
• Never post the QR code online, not even a proud photo of the ticket. Whoever has the code can use it before you.
• On the day, open the ticket or take a screenshot before you reach the gate; signal in a full stadium is poor.
• Bring ID if the show checks.

Resale after a sell-out

When a show sells out, resale offers appear the same day, and scams with them: photographed tickets, one QR code sold to several people, impersonating accounts. Nobody stands behind a ticket bought outside the official channel. Before sending anyone money, read passing tickets on safely and 8 signs of a ticket scam.

When to get help

If you are free at the sale time and the account and payment are ready, buy it yourself; TicketBox asks nothing more. Help is worth it only when the sale lands when you cannot be at a screen, or your group needs several accounts in the queue at once.
