Three ways tickets go on sale, and why each needs a different plan

General sale

The familiar kind: at the stated time anyone can buy, until stock runs out. A waiting room usually sits in front of it when demand is high.

Here what decides it is the number of valid sessions in the queue and whether payment details are ready. This is where a mini queue does the most.

Presale

A round before the general sale, restricted to a qualifying group: fanclub members, holders of a particular bank card, a carrier’s customers, or anyone with a registration code.

The important part: on large tours most of the good seats leave during presale rounds, and the general sale gets the remainder. So if your show has a presale, the job is not watching the general sale clock — it is qualifying for the presale, which means joining the fanclub, holding the right card or claiming the code, all in advance.

Lottery draws

Common in Japan. You do not buy immediately; you register within a window, and the system draws who is allowed to purchase.

Speed and device count are irrelevant here. A mini queue does nothing. What decides it is registering on time, meeting the conditions, and entering details correctly — after which it is chance. Treat anyone claiming to improve lottery odds with suspicion.

There are often several consecutive draws, so missing the first is not the end.

Working out which one your show uses

The official announcement always says, usually with a schedule: registration opens, results announced, general sale. An announcement with a single date is almost certainly a general sale.

Read the original announcement rather than a fan summary — eligibility details are the first thing lost in a repost.
